FAQs from Jamaica buyers
Kenya only allows cars that are 8 years old or newer from the year of manufacture. Any vehicle older than this will not be permitted for registration in Kenya. How To Buy?
Yes. All vehicles must undergo Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) in Japan, carried out by QISJ on behalf of the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS). Without this certificate, the vehicle will not be cleared at the Port of Mombasa.
On average, shipping a car from Japan to the Port of Mombasa takes about 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the shipping line and schedule.
