Required Import Documents
Original Invoice
The original purchase invoice issued by the exporter is required to confirm the actual value of the vehicle. This document helps UAE Customs calculate the correct taxes and duties.Original Export Certificate
Issued in Japan, this certificate proves the car has been officially deregistered and is eligible for export. It contains the vehicle’s specifications, ownership history, and confirmation that it is cleared for shipment.
Translated Export Certificate
Since official paperwork in the UAE must be in Arabic, the Japanese export certificate must be translated and attested. This ensures customs officers can verify all vehicle details without delay.Original Bill of Lading (B/L)
The Bill of Lading is issued by the shipping company and serves as proof of shipment. It includes information about the shipping port, consignee, and vehicle details. UAE Customs requires the original B/L to release the car upon arrival.Pre-shipment Inspection Report
Before leaving Japan, every vehicle must pass a pre-shipment inspection by an approved authority. This report confirms that the car meets UAE roadworthiness and safety standards. Without this inspection, customs clearance may be denied.
